Hey Guys, this is the start of a series of videos on the Ring Pro Doorbell.  We are doing an unboxing today, and later installing it, creating an account and playing with various features such as motion detection and cloud recording.

This is huge upgrade to any traditional doorbell.  It replaces your current exterior doorbell button with a 1080HD camera with two-way communication.  The button still makes your old inside doorbell ring, but also sends notifications to your smart device.  This device is powered using the electricity from your existing doorbell, but communicates to your network and the Internet via Wi-Fi.

Let’s look inside the box to see what sets Ring ahead of its competition.

Ring Pro Doorbell Box Contents

  • Documentation (property stickers, 3 install guides for each major component, where to go for help card)

  • Back plate in case you are installing it on an uneven surface

  • Drill bit in case you need to install the doorbell on masonry

  • A screwdriver handle and double ended screw driver bit for driving the mounting screws and the security star screw at the other end for securing the faceplate

  • Screws and anchors

  • The transformer or power kit is used to hook up to your existing doorbell to power the device once it’s installed outdoors

  • Wire clips to tap into the power from your old doorbell system

  • Wire extensions and connectors in case the wires on the back of your old doorbell button are too short

  • 4 Faceplates, depending on the color on your home.  The quality of each feels great and should last a long time.

  • The Doorbell itself which supports a 160 degree camera + night vision IR LED with two-way communication

We took an up-close look of the doorbell and you can see the 3 IR LED lights inside.  I can’t wait to see them in action.
