Hey Guys,
I’m back with my 3rd review of a ReoLink security camera. Today, we are looking at the RLC-511. It’s indoor/outdoor 5MP bullet style camera with a 4X optical zoom lens. Let’s check out the features, setup the ReoLink app, add it to record footage on BlueIris and my Network Video Recorder and check out the daytime and nighttime footage. I’ll be sharing a coupon code to save you 8% on reolink.com and at the end I’ll tell you how you can win this camera in my very first giveaway.
Yes, this is another ReoLink video of, this time, the bullet style security camera. I am a proud owner of various ReoLink products because of their durability, ease of setup and outstanding video quality. Do check out my other ReoLink videos.
These are available as individual cameras on Amazon for about $90US. Or even better, check out their lineup on reolink.com and save 8% with this coupon code. (It never expires!!!)

The great thing about this camera is that it works as a standalone device, meaning you don’t need a computer or an NVR or anything else to use it. When connected to your home network, the camera, by itself, can be used with your mobile device. You’ll need to add a micro SD card to the camera for recording footage and you can watch your live stream and playback footage from anywhere. You will also need to power the camera but we’ll get to that shortly.
This camera can be added to an existing security camera system, including any ReoLink Network Video Recorder which supports 5MP cameras (or higher). We’ll be setting this one up on another brand of Video Recorder and recording the camera’s footage onto a PC running software such as BlueIris. None of these recording and playback options require cloud recording or subscription fees.

To setup this camera, simply attach it to your ReoLink Network Video Recorder or NVR. For me, I’m going to plug it into my PoE switch which is connected to my network. My phone is on the same network and I’ve already downloaded the ReoLink app and setup an account in a previous video. When I open the app, boom, the camera is there. How easy is that?! I’m prompted right away to create a password for this camera, and give the camera a name. The timezone on the camera is set based of my phone’s timezone. A QR code has been saved to my phone’s photo roll with my settings. To find the IP address so I can set this camera up on other devices, go to the gear icon then Device Info.

$9.99Lastly, this camera does have a web user interface where you can login and update the basic and advanced configuration. Simply navigate to the camera’s IP address using your browser. I’m using Edge in this example. Login with the ReoLink credentials. You’ll need to enable Flash is you want to see the image. Here, you can update the camera’s setting and more advanced configuration.
Alright guys, that was a ton of information. I really hope you found it helpful! You can see why I’m a huge fan of these ReoLink cameras. Their hardware is top notch and their image quality is fantastic at this price point. I use mine all the time and they have been to be very reliable and I haven’t had any connection issues or failures. More details on the app setup and functions are available on my other ReoLink videos. I’d definitely recommend checking these guys out if you are looking for couple stand-alone cameras, a security camera system with an NVR or looking to expand your current setup with additional cameras.
Don’t forget to take advantage of this coupon code (ytbreo8offcanewfiebort) on the ReoLink site to save yourself 8%. It will give you further discounts on items which are on sale.
