Today, I’ll be showing you how to enable the RTSP protocol on the WYZE camera V3 so you can view and record footage on your PC. Right off the bat, at the time of recording this video, adding this protocol to your WYZE cam V3 will not enable you to use it on the Hikvision NVR or Reolink’s NVR. If you use Blue Iris however, you’re good to go. Stay tuned for the details.
In order to setup RTSP or the Real Time Streaming Protocol, you’re going to need your WYZE cam V3, access to the camera over the WYZE app, a micro-SD card and a computer or some hardware to get a downloaded file onto that memory card. The instructions are similar to the V2 instructions I posted in a past video.

I hope you found this helpful in learning how to set up and take advantage of the WYZE cam V3 RTSP protocol on the WYZE cam version 3. We updated the firmware on the camera and demoed how to stream the audio and video to VLC and Blue Iris. There are limitations in getting the stream to function on the Hikvision NVR and the Reolink NVR but who knows, maybe that will be updated in a future release. I’ll add links to the WYZE cam in the description as well as a link to check out Blue Iris’ evaluation version.
